Deas Hall(opens in a new tab) is home to the Department of Health and Human Performance(opens in a new tab); Intramural, Club and Recreation Athletic programs(opens in a new tab), and the Dr. Hank Cross Human Performance Lab(opens in a new tab). Constructed in 1976 and named for Col. Henry (Happy) Deas Jr., 1938, the two-story structure is approximately 88,000 square feet and also houses an eight lane, 25-meter swimming pool, six racquetball courts, a multi-purpose room, a 14,500-square-foot gymnasium, aerobic equipment and strength training facilities. The Dr. Hank Cross Human Performance Laboratory is a high-technology learning laboratory used for continuing research. The Human Performance Lab contains state-of-the-art equipment used to determine a variety of different measurements such as hormonal and blood differences in different conditions and maximal oxygen consumption. The lab also houses a conference room and a 14-person computer lab. The facilities were made possible by a gift from Bite Tech, Inc., which has supported research in HHP for several years.
